Myspace Comment Box Tutorial

Made by: Nick

NOTE: This is for profile 1.0 only

Creating a comment box on your profile used to be fairly simple - it only had a few inputs in the form and all you had to really change was your friend ID. Of course after Myspace decides to change things about a little and increase their security these codes change (and I would say it's for the better as security is a major thing).

Here is a comment box code that should work:

<form method="post" action="">
<input type="hidden" name="__EVENTTARGET" id="__EVENTTARGET" value="" />
<input type="hidden" name="__EVENTARGUMENT" id="__EVENTARGUMENT" value="" />
<input type="hidden" name="__VIEWSTATE” id="__VIEWSTATE" value="" />
<textarea name="ctl00$ctl00$cpMain$UserWriteCommentsControl$commentTextBox" cols="40" rows="5">
Post your comment here!
</textarea><br />
<input type="submit" name="ctl00$ctl00$cpMain$UserWriteCommentsControl$postcommentImageButton" value="Submit" />

All you need to change is the FRIENDID in bold above to your own friendID and it should work (it worked just there for me). If your unsure what the friendID is you will find it in the URL to your profile (or any links - message, add, pictures, etc):

How to find your FriendID

If you have any problems with this please post in our group on Myspace and I or someone else will try to help as best as we can.
